Anima was originally conceived in 2021 with documentary A SPACE IN TIME, a co-production with Salon Pictures directed by Riccardo Servini and Nick Taussig to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The film was BFI backed, theatrically released, and nominated for “Best Single Documentary” at the prestigious Grierson British Documentary Awards 2022.

In 2024, we officially launched as Anima Entertainment focusing on a wide range of stories for global audiences with a keen interest in intimate, sensitive and insightful work raising awareness around disability, mental health, promoting social change, how culture connects us, the human condition and immersive projects that help make abstract situations more accessible. We also have lots of work in the music and sports spaces and are always looking for new perspectives on these subjects.
Our most recent documentary ‘Dwarf Story’ (2024) which we co-produced with Embankment Films is a project giving a voice to the dwarfism community to talk about the repercussions of certain treatments on the rise for children with achondroplasia and how societies views on Dwarfism have been influenced by the media. The film had it's UK Premiere at the Odeon Luxe West End as part of the Little Venice Film festival and won three awards including Best Documentary and the Disability Experience Award. A one hour special will release in the UK on ITV in November 2024 and a feature length version will be released internationally.

We are currently in production on three yet to be announced feature documentaries and one series that will be revealed in 2025. We want to give filmmakers with a diverse worldview the platforms to tell their stories cinematically while empowering them to be experimental but still reach a wider audience. If you would like to submit ideas or are looking for a production company to board your project then you can get in touch with Riccardo Servini via our contact page.

More projects to be announced in 2025
