Jak is a journalist and documentary filmmaker with a career spanning television, print, live events and podcasting.

His new feature documentary, Right Here, Right Now, is currently showing on Sky Documentaries and has screened at film festivals internationally. The documentary tells the story of DJ Fatboy Slim's notorious beach party in Brighton in 2002 - the biggest free rave in UK history - in all it's chaotic beauty.

Working with the likes of Sky, VICE, The Guardian, The Face and others, his focus lies on music, subcultures, activism and alternative communities. Over the last 15 years he's immersed himself in underground music scenes, esoteric religious groups, political protest camps and some of the stranger nooks of society.

Outside of journalism he runs salon nights in Brighton called Sound Affects: talks about music, sound and subcultures, and Video Affects: talks about film, TV and documentaries.

He's also a lecturer at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM), teaching across media, journalism and cultural theory. The little spare time he has left is dedicated to youth work with teenagers all over the UK. With charities and in schools and colleges, his focus is on creativity, emotional intelligence and mindfulness.
