Ellie is an actress, writer, editor and filmmaker. Her passion for storytelling and over a
decade of experiences working across theatre, narrative feature films, shorts and
documentaries in the UK, USA, South Africa and Europe, have brought her to a place of
confidence in her voice, style and drive; in what brings her joy and what matters to her most.
Ellie is adept and keen to collaborate with other artists to fully express her ideas and spirit,
particularly raising awareness on displacement, wildlife and conservation whilst also utilising
her comedic timing, subtly or less subtly, to lift audience’s spirits and still tackle difficult
subjects, through emotive, thought-provoking pieces.
Recent principal actress credits include: Anna Barbara Films romantic comedy-drama HOW
TO MAKE HER LEAVE, for which she’s also additional writer, nearing completion; Hallmark’s
A VERY VENICE ROMANCE, dir. Liz Farrer; and upcoming ICE CREAM, a dark dramedy
short film based on her own experiences with Anorexia, for which she’s helped write the
story, in development with Candid Broads Productions & Midi 10. Ellie has played alongside
Carrie Fisher in COPING WITH HUMANS (Oscars spot) and narrated a satirical broadcast of
Steve Bannon’s CORIONLANUS (yes, that does exist!) for NowThis. She won TIFF Best
Actress award for ITSY, a charity short film on misconceptions and prejudice, as well as a
TMFF Best Actress nomination for her role in psychological horror, CATERPILLAR, which
played at BIFA qualifying festivals. Theatre highlights include: Annie in The Guardian 5*
reviewed actor-muso production of CHICAGO; Sheila in HAIR at the English Theatre
Frankfurt; Daisy in THE GREAT GATSBY at the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch; GODPSELL
at the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch and MISS SANDWICH in THE ELEPHANT MAN at the
Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch.
Always interested to find new ways of expressing herself, Ellie learned how to edit largely
from Youtube tutorials and trial and error, and since then her work as editor for Oscar
long-listed short DENZEL and Oscar & BAFTA qualifying short SWIM, have led her to edit
upcoming feature documentary IN THE ROOM for Laura Windows, part-funded by Spotlight
UK. Capable of weaving her own thoughts and sentiments into artistic works, Ellie has
written her first feature screenplay, a feel-good, bold thriller, based on lived-in experiences,
currently in development.
Ellie continues to evolve her skills - and hopes, in the future, to direct - always with heart, a
natural musicality and inspired energy.
