Elle van Knoll is an international writer/director with 10 years experience in film, TV and theatre including; the critically acclaimed play and her theatrical debut We Just Keep Going, several multi-award winning shorts shown at BAFTA and Academy Qualifying film festivals around the world, contemporary opera Winter Journey with music written by Ludovico Einaudi, and various projects for HBO, Channel 4, Amazon Prime, Disney and BBC Films.

Her first screenplay quickly garnered attention and secured her a finalist place at the Red Planet Prize, where she went on to workshop a new drama in conjunction with ITV. Her debut feature as writer/director Where Raging Fires Meet, a psychological thriller set in the competitive world of classical music, is currently in development with Anima Entertainment with Ludovico Einaudi attached to compose. Elle is also a classically trained violinist and has worked with orchestras around the world.

Elle has also worked in development for BAFTA award winning The Producers, and worked with Antenna Pictures Ltd on 8 part documentary How To Rob a Bank (VICE), and with October Films on 6 part documentary First Ladies (CNN/HBO MAX).

She is on a mission to portray strong women with depth & complexity and is passionate about creating more opportunities for the LGBTQIA+ community and women in film and television.
